Ear piercing problem...?

So, I just got my ear cartilage pierced about a half a month ago for the first time, the healing of it has went pretty well up until about several days ago. A weird hard bump has grown just behind the earing hole, infection I assume, although it is pretty painless..anyway, I've popped the bump several times with a clean pin hoping to drain it of its core or puss (sorry this sounds gross) but nothing has happened, (i've done this twice now, while cleaning it and applying zinc to the wound)..it keeps growing back. Do you have any idea how to get rid of this infection, and how common this is to cartilage piercings?

It's probably just a scar tissue of some kind. Your body is trying to heal it. This is common for cartilage piercings. Below is a website with some helpful info.
