Wool Top

Cotton reel with pins/nails in the top and you weave wool thru the middle?

I did this at school and am intersted in taking this up again but using silver wire for jewellery making.Its a wooden cotton reel with pins or nails in the top and you weave the wool around the pins and thru the centre forming a 'tube',any ideas what this is called and where I can get one,other than making one at home?

I know what your talking about and all you need is an old thread spool and 4 tiny nails.
