Wood Turning

Wood turning Help please?

In am new to wood turning and need some help. I have trying to make table lamps with beech that has been cut for about one year. The problem I am having is that I can't stop the wood from cracking when I finish turning it. Someone told me that I should not use it until the bark falls off as it is not seasoned right. Is there anything I can do, to stop it cracking,

It may have been cut for a year....but is it seasoned?!!. As`soon as you've turned it you should immediately varnish or treat it. Keep it away from heat and let it dry in the cool. Check the percentage of moisture in the wood and ask advice from the suppliers.
