Wire Stamp

can you send light things in an envelope with a first class stamp?

I want to send a small headphone wire ( i forgot to send it) on ebay, but I can't be bothered to muck about with parcels. Surely if it's light enough, it will be ok in an envelope and 1 stamp?

bonus question- can you send parcels in a postbox if it's got the right stampage on

You can send small items in an envelope with a first class stamp provided they weigh less than 100g for 41p. Anything between 100g & 250g will cost 66p. The envelope must fit through a certain size slot which can be tested at the local post office. I think you can put small packets into the post bos with the correct postage providing it will fit through the opening upto 750g and measure less than 353mm x 250mm x25mm. All else must be taken into the Post office.
