Western Large
How do you think Western society looks in the eyes of an outsider?
I come from a family of immigrants and the older people in my family think American culture is cold, too individualistic, materialistic and lacking in values/substance. I have to say though that many of them are bitter, my dad in particular, calls Americanization/Westernization a "disease" or "cancer". I know that not all immigrants are this cynical and bitter, but in my experience many/most look down on large parts of Western society, especially when it comes to family, morality and values.
I have foreigners in my family too. Although they work harder, they're pretty much all alcoholics that are near constantly arguing with each other over the most insignificant nonsense.
Non- westerners seem more talented in putting a facade over their home lives than Westerners; they polycell over cracks in their families with this big bravado. Westerners are just more honest family-wise, not necessarily worse.
