Vinyl Lettering

I am looking for a good vinyl letter cutting machine. I make crafts and signs and this would be wonderful.?

I would like one that allows large and wide lettering. I have heard the best ones are aroun $1500-$1700 in price. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

I have heard the Cricut cuts vinyl lettering, but I have never seen it done. The newer model (Cricut Expression) runs about $400. It takes sheets that are 12 x 24 inches.
