Thin Cut

What tool do I need to cut thin branches from a tree? I need an electric tool.?

There are new trees and or plants growing at the base of my established tree and I need to get rid of the extra growth.
I have arthritis and need a tool that is electric.

If the growth is too dense to use a saw, try ratcheting pruners. You should be able to get them at Home Depot or Lowes. They are made especially for people with limited grip strength. Make sure you get the right type of pruner: Bypass pruners (blades pass each other) for new, green growth or anvil-type pruners (one sharp blade that meets a flat surface) for old growth or dead wood.
