Whats the difference between gold plating and gold polishing of silver jewellery?

When u purchase jewellery, sometimes the salesgirl informs you that it is silver, gold plated, and sometimes they say that it is silver, gold polished (from what i think.. i believe that gold polish is when they coat it with a gold coloured chemical)

With the help of battery power you can charge as much as you can Gold in the silver article and it is known as gold polish.Gold plating is just like pasting the Gold sheet which will be like tissue paper.But long life is gold plating.Good luck
