How can I tighten a screwed down but still loose car battery cable to the terminal post?
My car won't start. After removing the terminal clamps and cleaning large amounts of corrosion off the posts; the car started once. But not again. I believe the problem is due to the fact that the positive cable can be removed easily by hand. The terminal clamp is screwed completely down but appears too large for the post. I tried bending it into the post a little and scoring the lead with a screwdriver. Still wont start. Does anyone know of anything i can add to the post to make it slightly larger or something else that I can cheaply do to improve the connection?
go to the auto store and get a new terminal end, you just cut the old one off and peel the rubber back on the cable and the new end just bolts to the cable, easiest and best fix.
