How to tell if my watch is real gold?

so i need to know if my watch is real gold without going to a jewel shop, or acids I still want it to look nice, or biting or making dents.

Check to see if it has a stamp on it. If not you may have to take it to a jeweler. They can tell by using a loupe (high powered magnifying glass) Or by doing a small (make sure you say small) scratch test. They don't put the acid directly on the watch, they scratch a small part of the watch on a stone and put the acid on the stone to see if it's real. However most good jewelers can tell by looking at it
