Is it bad to exercise every day?

I am really doing great and finally losing ounce by ounce daily but i was told that you need to give your body a rest so that the muscles can rebuild or repair. My biggest worry is that if i take like two days off the weight will increase and i have to work harder just to remove those extra pounds.
So far i try to go between 5-6 days of the week, mainly cardio on the treadmill. Would it be bad if i went 7 days?

Its bad to work out the SAME muscle group more than one day in a row. The solution is to split up muscle groups (legs, core, arms, shoulders/chest) and stagger what days you work otu what group. Cardio can be safely done every day, provided you keep it to about 20 minutes or so a day, which is really plenty is you include a muscle-group workout that day as well.
