Im looking at painting a room and I got an estimate, do you think its too much money?

I am looking at having a room painted and crown molding installed. Here are the details and the quote, it seems outrageous to me, this is a handy man that is charging the amount. Also, we are paying for crown molding and paint supplies.

Paint the walls, baseboards and ceiling of 12x10 room
Install crown molding
paint one door
Sorry, forgot to put the estimate. He is asking for $1400 for 2 days work, no helpers. What do you think

That is an outrageous amount. The only justifiable reason would be if he is painting an elaborate mural, as a "handy-man" I highly doubt it.

Pricing should consider how many things need to be moved out of the room, and the height of the ceilings, and any repairs that may need to be done.

I highly urge you to get more estimates. It sounds as if this guy doesn't want to do it anyway.
