Ceramic Decals
How can I make my own decals to put on my clay ceramics?
I'm not talking about decals that are pasted or painted on. I'm talking about decals that are actually fired into the clay slip. I can buy decals, but I don't like the pictures. I want to create my own pictures and make fired dishes out of them--with the pictures incorporated into the dishes like the ones you buy in stores.
I don't think you can make them, I think that the dyes they print them with are fairly different from the dyes used in a normal printer, for one they need to be all inorganic and contain a flux as well as a metallic oxide pigment.
But if you google "ceramic decals" you will find plenty of companies which all will print your custom design for you. Just look through them and figure out who is most likely to help you at an affordable price.
