How do I get a burnt candle wick stain out of carpet?
I have a black stain on mint green carpet..and I am pretty sure it is a piece of candle wick that was burned down (I pinch them off before I light the candle again so the wick doesn't smoke).
I haven't touched the "stain" yet as I am not sure what to use.
I thought I could put a piece of newspaper over it and iron the wax out of the carpet and then treat the actual black soot stain itself...but not sure. I know you can do that to get candle wax that has spilled on carpet out...been there done that.
Any suggestions? I don't want to set the black stain in the carpet by ironing it.
I would try ironing over the spot, just in case it has any wax in it... then use oxyclean for the actual black soot.
