Looking to identify a plant?

I am planning my wedding and for some reason I keep thinking of this plant, but I do not know not the name. I saw him often in dry arrangements may craft stores. It looks like a semi-straight high branch (or possibly reed) with fuzzy (almost velvety) acorns white buds shaped protruding out of it. Can anyone help me put a name on it ... it has been bugging me all day. Absolutely ... thank you thank you Grace!
