Bud Flowers

My veggie plants are not blooming. What can I do to promote flowers?

I think I gave my plants too much nitrogen and now they are huge but have no flowers. My squash and cucumbers have no flowers and my beans have had buds for over a week now that won't open. Is there anything that I can give them to promote budding/flowering or to diminish the nitrogen level? I gave them a fish emulsion foliage spray.

Seaweed is chok full of postassium, which veggie plants need for fruiting/ flowering.

I would look for a "bloom" type of fertilizer, which cuts back on the N, and has more P & K for "blooming".

Stay away from Miracle Grow, as it sounds like you have. That stuff is synthetic, takes forever to break down, and there are so many better options out there, organic or not. :)

The shorter daylight periods, which we will soon see, will also trigger the plants into "bloom" mode, so be patient too. You can't speed up the pre-disposed, genetic encoded thought process of plants.
