How do You Paint those art deco wardrobes and get a good finish?
I brought some second hand art deco wardrobes i think they are made from walnut, they have a very shabby chic look to them. I want to paint them a distressed white. How would i go about doing this they are Solid Wood and have a lacquer or varnish on them.
I m looking for a shabby chic finish that would last for years with the maybe odd touch up. Can anyone who knows how do do this tell me how i can go about this and what the best kind of paint would be to do this. Any answers would be much appreciated
I would give them a good clean with sugar soap ( can be bought at any DIY shop) then rub down with sand paper and clean again to get the dust off, then brush or roll on a couple of coats of primer and undercoat before painting them the colour you want. Good luck.
